The sun shone on a record turnout for the sixth edition of the Cafod annual Fun Run at Bollington on Tuesday 27th December. Some 235 runners, joggers and strollers enjoyed crisp air and blue skies.

Read about the current situation in Syria.

The participants included Macclesfield MP Mr David Rutley and Bollington Town Mayor Cllr Alan img_8369Williams and of course Fr Paschal of St Alban’s Macclesfield now a Fun Run veteran on his third outing.

At the moment, with many sponsors still collecting from their backers, the total raised for Syrian and other people affected by the violence in so many countries in the Middle East, stands at £4000.

Post Script: A special thank you has to go to the marshals and stewards who worked both before and during the event to help to make it run as smoothly as it did. There are far too many to mention by name however Chris Pimblott, the overall organiser deserves an individual mention. Thank you Chris and here’s to the Fun Run in 2017!
