St Peter’s Parish Ludlow (almost the most southerly parish in the Diocese) hosted a reflection morning for the Shropshire CAFOD Group.
When planning activities earlier in the year the group were keen to repeat their “Fun Day at Ellesmere” which happened on May 11th. However, they also wanted a more reflective gathering to mark the Year of Faith.
Canon Christopher Walsh from St Peter’s Ludlow, agreed to speak on the theme, “Mercy not Sacrifice” a phrase which surprisingly came from the Gospel of the day.
We gathered for Mass at 10.00am. Canon spoke for 45minutes and then a group of about 20 gathered and responded to what we had heard. Canon Walsh’s talk certainly made us all think and we were eager to discuss out thoughts and reflect on what had spoken to us.
Sue gave everyone a CAFOD update on Harvest Fast Day . Many then took advantage of the beautiful sunshine to explore Ludlow.
