The Union of Catholic Mothers Holy Apostles Afternoon Group, Wallasey are “Hungry for Change”. At a recent meeting they were inspired by the story of Fidel and Julia from El Salvador. They saw and heard how their community, Puentecitos, has been transformed by the hard work of the community, CAFOD’s partner, the Jesuit Development Service, and the support of the Catholic Community in England and Wales. This UCM group are no strangers to El Salvador; one of their group worked for many years as a nurse in the country.

Many of the group took “Hungry for Change” cards for themselves and friends. The group are also involved in recycling for CAFOD. They collect old mobile phones as well as foreign coins and ink cartridges which are turned into funds to support CAFOD’s work.
