Young, gifted and CAFOD

The “People of the Pipeline” a small group of pupils from Yr 8 at Upton Hall Grammar School are continuing to raise money for CAFOD. Their latest enterprise
“A Stitch for Life Draw 2010” – to celebrate the inspiration and compassion of the small group of women who in 1960 called for the very first Fast Day. This action by these young girls , provides reassurance to us all that CAFOD is alive and well and safe in the hands of the next generation, who are taking up the baton to ensure the legacy of CAFOD continues as long as there are people in need.
The group held fundraising events to raise money to buy the materials and the silks and Sarah– Louise’s nanna offered to make the quilt which is double sided and features exquisite fairy panels on one side and a floral material on the other..
Raffle tickets costing £1 each (£5 per book) are available now from the CAFOD Office: please call Liz and Sue on 01244 677594 or e-mail to take part in this draw and to support this wonderful initiative. Please don’t delay.
